Welcome to this listing for our new type of portable office/utility building - The "Grey Heron". This model has been designed to minimise its environmental footprint both during construction and long term, whilst providing a comfortable and safe internal environment to the occupants. Use of materials that release VOCs and other harmful compounds has been minimised, and all internal paint finishes are VOC free. Sheep's wool insulation and lime plaster have been selected to allow a moisture buffer in the walls and ceiling, ironing out any spikes in humidity. 30mm polyurethane spray (zero GWP propellant) on all metal areas to minimise thermal bridging and prevent interstitial condensate build up.

50mm sheep wool in walls, 100mm sheep wool in ceiling, 30mm PIR board under the floor. Double-glazed Argon filled glass units in all windows/door with low E coating to inside. Sound block wall and ceiling boarding with single coat'Lime Green Solo' plaster with sponge finish and matte white Ecopro paint (diffusing, non-reflective wall finish).

Engineered oak flooring with low VOC varnish system. Hardwood Part M compliant door with natural paint finish. 2.4KWp solar PV system using bi-facial panels on custom-built galvanised roof frame with 5.4kWh LiFe battery bank and lightning arrest system - currently configured to work as grid tied with zero export but can be easily reconfigured to run off grid or to export excess energy if your grid connection point allows it.

Ceramic 0.5 bowl sink set into custom-made concrete bench top with s tainless boiling water mixing tap. 6L storage heater for washing up. Boiling water unit for hot drinks adjustable between 55C and 95C with scale filter.

Osmio water filter to remove chlorine/impurities from supply. 60L under counter fridg e. Dyson Pure Hot+Cool electric heater with air purifier - can be controlled remotely through your mobile device. 200W Bluetooth amplifier with Polk in-wall speakers. Inet router with ethernet/WiFi repeater and 4G SIM card internet access functions (supports multiple VPN protocols for security).

10.1 Lenovo Android tablet for control and monitoring of PV/storage system, heating, Nest alarm and remote switching of water heaters (can also be used for music streaming through the bluetooth amplifier). Samsung digital door lock with PIN/key fob for access (4 fobs included). Mains connection point (designed to be used with a TT earthing system) with 100mA time delay RCD, surge protection device and overall consumption/export meter. 14x double gang 13A sockets throughout (USB charge socket in kitchenette) with an additional 4x single gang sockets that can be controlled at the main light switch for lamps/monitors etc. All sockets in brushed stainless steel.

8x8W LED downlights on dimmer over the main area, 1x8W downlight over the kitchenette and 1x8W downlight in the porch that has a wireless fob to allow control from up to 30m away (more fobs can be easily added). Average standing heat loss as monitored December 2020 over a 48hr period with an external temperature of 1 degree and an internal of 18 degrees was 600W.

Internal dimensions are 5.3m long x 2.5m high x 2.17m wide. Please note the following points. The PV array will then need to be reinstalled by a competent electrician or PV installer using an access tower (approximately a half days work). Depending on the final location we can carry this work out for you, or alternatively we are happy to provide remote assistance to a local installer should it be required. This model has been fitted with custom carrier rails for trough planter units, which are available for sale separately (we can also furnish you with plans/brackets to allow you to make these yourself). The south facing wall of the unit can effectively be completely covered in these planters, in time creating a living wall or fruit/vegetable growing possibilities.
